I have had 3 attacks in as many days. The worst is the shaking and crapping in my arms and legs. Is there anyway to get through this without going to the hosp which is what I have been going. They give me Ativan and that works for the rest of the day. Is there away not to have the shakes. I posted it before but didn't see it out there. Thank You. New to the site.
I've had a lot of experience with panic attacks so I understand how awful they can be. First off, you should look into your life and see if anything has changed or if you are really stressed about something in particular. When I was getting panic attacks I was able to stop them or make them feel less severe just by sitting, closing my eyes, and taking slow, really deep breaths. Some training in self-hypnosis was also really helpful. If you continue to get panic attacks I would recommend making an appointment with a psychiatrist who is specialized in treating anxiety instead of seeing a general physician. They can give you other medication options for long term that may help you. Everyone is different when it comes to how you react to medications but I found that Klonopin was really helpful for me.
Hi, I would recommend following up with your doctor(psychiatrist). It could be a chemical imbalance. In addition, try to make your life as simple as possible to decrease your stress level (environmental stressors). Exercising and proper diet(avoid caffinated drinks) may also help by making you better adapted to dealing with stress. Take care.
