I'm going to my doctor today and everytime I go in I have to repeat and explain over again that my?
... dose of xanax he gives me 0.25 isn't working and helping my anxiety or panic attacks . I don't know what else to say to him for him to see I'm being serious and I don't know why I'm having to keep asking him and he simply ignores it and sends me away with my 0.25mlg . Its so upsetting and really making my anxiety worse just thinking about having this problem again. Can someone help me today please
No he's my personal primary doctor & no I'm not on any other medication either . He did put me or prozac & I took it for about 3-4weeks and I just stop taking it cuz it wasn't making feel good at all I was feeling sick from it . So I stopped . Idk maybe I should of taking it longer but idk if that medication was even going to help with my serious anxiety disorder& panic attacks & on top of it social anxiety disorder. What are some medications you think I should bring up to my doctor besides going higher on my xanax ? Because I'm only asking him to go up to 0.5mlg because they actually do work when I'm having panic attacks
Some of the general practitioner docs have become hesitant to prescribe benzodiazepines due to the addiction and tolerance scare. My GP will not prescribe benzos but my Psych doc will if I need them. It may not be a good idea to rely only on a benzo for anxiety and panic attacks long term. There are some good antidepressants that would address those issues long term that you can talk to your GP about. Some of the ADs are specifically for anxiety. No one can tell you which one will be the best for you. We are all chemically different.
You can always post here for support. You are not alone.
Wishing you the Best :)
I have the same problem, I was taking the same medication, and told the doctor it was not working. She said give it time. I ended up changing my doctor. Someone that cared about my health. Now the doctor I have has changed a lot of my medicines, and now I feel so much better. You can always change your doctor if he isn't doing his job.
