Is this Anxiety - or Depression?

I should know this of all peotple! Here's the thing - I do suffer from anxiety that is for sure. But I don't have any energy... my get up and and go left. I'm on medication. I''m on Ativan, Lamictal, and Risperdal for anxiety and
I have a routine what I do from the the time I wake up and the time I go to bed.
I don't know what to do. If my routine has changed I feel uneasy feeling. Oh yeah, I have to know what time it is, I have to have a clock in the room. I even write the time when I go to bed. And this is a good thing note a bad idea. It comes in handy for docucmenting, imporant events.
Honestly this doesn't sound like depression at all, If you are getting up everyday and sticking to a routine then your okay. However maybe some OCD? Along with Anxiety..If you don't have any energy it could be a thyroid problem or something else. make sure to talk wit your Dr about that asap. Good Luck! : )
OCD did cross my Imind. I've had my thyroid checked. Everything came back normal. Ihave a appt with my neurologist on April 2th then my psyochiatrist on Weds.
Thank you replying.
I am Hypothyroid, but went undiagnosed for 12 years. Back then, the docs only did one test, TSH, to determine whether or not you had a low thyroid function. Well, guess what: it came back 'low normal', so he wouldn't give me any meds--even though I was so exhausted all the time and had so much body pain that I could barely get out of bed!
Sooo, if your doc did not do SEVERAL different thyroid blood tests on you, then maybe you should ask that they be done.
There is a book by Mary Shomon on Hypothyroidism in which she gives a list of ALL the Labs that need to be done to determine whether or not you have a low functioning thyroid.
Hope this helps--- and, by the way, once I was put on Thyroid meds, all my body pain went away within a week! (and everyone thought I had Fibro!)
Good Luck to you,
Mary, the madhatter.
I just wanted to add to what Mary said too. If you have the thyroid tests & everything comes back ok, read up on different personality types. I am a type A which leaves me just like you! I can't even fall to sleep at night because I can't shut down my brain. I don't believe it is anxiety at all. I do take xanax for sleep, but not anxiety. I was given this to help the REM sleep pattern years ago for fibromyalgia, & it has been a blessing for me to get to sleep at night. Otherwise I would be laying there thinking about what I didn't do that day, & what I need to do tomorrow etc... Just my thoughts. Oh, & I make myself a list & notes to follow for each day & that helps me a lot too.If I keep checking the list, even if I don't complete everything, it's still there for the next day to do so I don't worry quite as much about the little things...
