I need help with muscle pain related to anxiety attacks. I have taken many non prescription meds and nothing helps. Xanax helps but my doc won't prescribe very many so I don't take them often only when I freak out over the pain. Please help all ideas welcome.
Anxiety needs treatment with medication and a therapist. Take the Xanax when you feel stress building. After the fact means you may have had a panic attack. The idea is to avoid the attack. The aches are from hyperventilating, crying and so forth. Taking NSAIDs daily will result in stomach problems, some serious, and make you hurt more and become more anxious.
Fear creates anxiety. Anxiety created depression. Depression makes more anxiety. Got it? A therapist will help. Break the cycle and free you from this condition. An antidepressant can help you out as you get this taken care of. You can stop the meds once you get rid of your fear. That will get rid of the pain. It takes work and consistency but it is well worth it. I know quite a few people who did not let anxiety take over their lives with this approach. I believe you can do this too. A doctor is your first stop. This problem of anxiety is extremely common. You are not alone and you can get better.
Cyclobenzaprine Aka. Flexeril could be helpful. Its advised not to take benzos with muscle relaxers but in a low dose it never bothered me. I had the same problem, with my legs tensing up and I wasn't aware. I get tense a lot of the time and its a symptom of severe anxiety. It goes unnoticed because my adrenaline usually masks the pain at first. I was out of work for two days because of it. Check with your Dr but iknow it helped me loosen up. It does take a good psychiatrist and therapist to get past the anxiety it does take time but it works. It is a two part system the meds aid in it but the real change occurs in therapy. However without correcting the balance its hard to even get out of the house let alone treatment. Its rough I can agree.
