I've never taken Ativan or Paxil, but I have taken Buspar, Zoloft, Proxac, Lamictal and Abilify and they didn't have much of an effect. I take Klonopin now, and that helps a lot with my PTSD, and I take Vyvanse for ADD, and Seroquel for insomnia and that seems to be the best combo for me, but I still have panic attacks, just not as much. Everyone's body responds differently, so I'd check with your doc first before changing meds. A family friend told me that the best way to overcome a life-changing event (which can cause PTSD) is to that learn about yourself. the better you know yourself, the better the choices you'll be able to make to change it. To get to know yourself, learn about how you learn, what motivates you, how you communicate and what your personality is. Good luck! I hope you feel better soon.
if thats not working 4 u ... maybe u could tell your doctor to switch u 2 valium an lexapro... thats what i take or maybe xanax an prozac... there are so many different combanations... u an your doctor will have to find one that works best for u ... the medicines out there so its no use in living miserable... when theres help
Hon, the only thing that hqs ever helped anyone I've ever known with "issues", like myself, a couple of family member, coworkerse and many friends. (Male and female)- get outside! I play softball and four wheel as well as many other outdoor activities. Now I cannot speak for so called "home bodies" or "couch potatoes" but you need to get out there and get active. Joining a support group, any kind (geared toward your sex to begin is a safe bet for everyon who goes this route) will help tremendously. And if this -is getting active once again ... truly does not help. You more than likely need to long term hospitalization, I do not think this be the case with you though, I can tell by how you verbalize from experience. Good luck, keep me posted?
I see this was posted two years ago however being that I have similar issues . I wanted to know how you are doing ?
I do find that exercising helps me but I must do this everyday in order for it to be effective and honestly someday I just don't have the motivation.
I just started in risperidone .25mg and have to take it around 3pm cause it cause me insomnia.
Klonopin has been a life saver for me.
Where you able to find something that helped you.
