Antibiotics fight bacterial infections. They either kill bacteria or keep them from reproducing.

Bacteria are a member of a large group of unicellular or one-celled microorganisms that lack organelles and an organised nucleus. There can be useful bacteria in the body of a living organism but others are known to cause diseases.
