I've been taking Keppra and Vimpat for epilepsy for a good year now and I now seem to have no more emotions at all. I can't smile, laugh, cry or get excited about anything any more. I was told that it may be a side effect of those meds, but I'm supposed to keep taking these meds for life. I also can't hold a meaningful conversation with anyone any more. Should I stop taking these meds now or what? It seems like the only good thing they're doing is making me able to drive a car and preventing seizures. My life is a train wreck now!
Hi, I take Vimpat 200Mg twice daily. I’ve been on this dosage for about two years. I also take Zonisamide 100mg in addition to the Vimpat. Hi, I also have epilepsy. I take 200 mg of vimpat twice a day, Trileptal 600 mg twice a day, keppra 500 mg twice a day and Dilantin 300 mg once a day at bedtime. I been on all this for about 6 mo now, If any meds get reduced or stopped I have seizures. as long as I take the meds, I'm ok unless I forget or take them A few hrs late. I notice I have more emotions. I cry very easy and I take a lot of things personal. I'm not depressed at all I'm actually much more sensitive, not just to myself but for others as well. I take BuSpar 5 mg 3 times A day for anxiety and nervous. I have never had an issue with anxiety before in my life till taking all the seizure meds. My health is good besides seizures. Now I can't go to any place that has a lot of people or a lot of stimulation I cant take It, will cause seizures for me. I think it is a side effect of all the seizure meds. After 12 yrs of driving A semi truck now I can't drive A car thats how bad my seizures are, So I definitely understand. Good luck, god bless.
