Nell, I'm so sorry about your terrible cramps. I get quinine pills at my local Walmart. They're in the supplements section. They're called Hyland's Leg Cramps. You can also get them online. Amazon and other sites sell them. They seem to work; I never get cramps if I've taken them the night before. Also you might try taking calcium and magnesium and potassium and drinking tonic water. Tonic water has quinine in it. Also plenty of water, dehydration can cause cramps. My mom doesn't normally take leg cramp pills but she has a routine that keeps cramps at bay where she'll drink some extra calcium orange juice and some tonic water, take a magnesium supplement, and eat a banana during the day for potassium. I try not to take the quinine pills all the time because they can serious side effects if taken for a long time. Another thing, some medications cause cramping as side effects. These may include some of the blood pressure medications and heart meds. Read your medication information sheets for the side effects or look it up online.
