I thought that applying the androjel on the calves of my legs would help build more muscle mass and grow the hair I hve lost in that area.
I don't believe Androgel works as a topical remedy, the way suntan lotion might. I believe the application is to get it into your bloodstream, and then it affects your body from within. This is one reason why there are very clear instructions NOT to apply to the genitals or sex organs.
I always thought the application to the shoulders and higher body was for ease of application, and in areas where there was not likely to be contact, or where it could be covered for a couple of hours without risk of cross-contamination with others.
My experience with Testim is that my calf hair has increased on its own, without any "direct application" to the legs. Hair, muscle mass, etc is a secondary sexual characteristic, and can be influenced by exercise, etc.
