... five years and g
I was on it for almost ten years and toward the end experienced severe muscle pain. I came off for a few weeks at my doctor's suggestion and then went back on it. The severity of the pain disappeared while I was off, and came back when I went on it again. My doctor wanted me to go the whole ten years (I was about a month short) but I could not because the pain was so severe. I am now fourteen years past treatment and cancer free. I had bilateral mastectomy and lymph node removal. I get a lot of muscle pain still and also have arthritis. I think the muscle pain is partially through the Arimidex but arthritis is in the family but feel the pain and spread of the pain is also because of the Arimidex. HOWEVER, it's better than having a recurrence of the cancer!!! I'll take the pain any day!
