... explain. Test says - ANA SCREEN - POSITIVE. Then it says ANA PATTERN - SPECKLED. Then it says ANA TITER 1:160 H. Does anyone have any idea what this all means?
The ANA test is ordered to help screen for autoimmune disorders and is most often used as one of the tests to diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
A positive ANA test result may suggest an autoimmune disease, but further specific testing is required to assist in making a final diagnosis.
A "Speckled " result is usually associated with conditons such as SLE, Sjogren's syndrome, scleroderma, polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, and mixed connective tissue disease.
