Had an ear infection and was prescribed it. Didn't take the full prescription and want to know if I can finish taking it now.
No. You should never have left over antibiotics. Antibiotics are to be taken for the full course, even if you feel better. By not taking a full course you risk making a bacteria resistant to antibiotics and if you dont take the full course you may not fully kill a bacterial infection which can cause it to come back and with a vengeance. Another thing, there are not enough "left over" antibiotics. You need a full course so you need to see your Dr and get a new script and this time, finish all of the medicine even if you feel better before you are done!
