I may not have been clear about timeframe. Prescription was for 10 days and I've been taking the amoxicillin for 6 days.
Depends on how severe the side effects are... if the side effects are mild and bearable you should finish off the whole 6 day course, even if you don't have an infection now.
Infections start before you have symptoms of it. The dr had a reason to order it for 6 days.
I would call your dentist and ask if (s)he has a different antibiotic that you can use if you cannot withstand the side effects. Otherwise, I would complete the 10 days worth of medication you were prescribed.
I agree with all the other posters, you should always finish the full script the doctor has ordered... in my opinion you only have what four more days, do u think u can tuff it out and finish... if the side effects r that bad, maybe you should do what the other poster stated and call the doc and see what he has to say... never stop a med without letting your doctor no... hope all works out..
