I have been on gabapentin for 2 years, decreased to 300 mg per day now. But still not sleeping well... My .pain not very severe..
Absolutely, those medications are prescribed quite often together.
You really should have no problems and 25mgs of amitriptyline should help you sleep. Your doctor may increase the dosage, eventually, after you adjust to it.
I wish you a restful night of sleep,
P.S. I've taken amitriptyline and gabapentin together, at higher doses and had no problems.
I've taken them together before. I am thinking about talking to my doc to change me from Ambien over to Amitryptiline. I don't want to go through hell getting off of Ambien. Like you, I have insomnia big time. I have also been thinking of dozapin. Anyway, my best to you and hopefully we will both sleep soon :-)
I've been taking 200mg of Amitriptyline at night for 2 years due to chronic insomnia and I've slept like a baby ever since (however I do have a high tolerance to medication). I've also been taking 900mg a day of Gabapentin (hoping to decrease) for a few months and have not noticed any difference in my sleep patterns.
