... of all the side affects i was getting, hart palpitations, i could not sleep but then could not get up in morning, i had dry mouth and throat, up and down all night going to loo, but needing lots to drink all night, metallic taste in mouth but the worst thing was the dreams nightmares and anxiety / paranoia. iv not had any amitriptyline for almost a year now and most of the side affects have gone but i still seam to be very nervous / paranoid, i have almost stopped going out, I'm avoiding friends, i have all ways been a bit of a worrier but nothing like this. is it just me being paranoid or has the amitriptyline coursed long term damage lol
Hi, it sounds as though you are suffering with anxiety &/or depression. Whether or not this is related to taking/discontinuing Amitriptyline, i think a visit to your doctor is a good idea. He/she may want to start you on an SSRI or Benzodiazepine(?) to help you through while you are finding things/life tough/hard to deal with
