I have been taking amitripline since April 2017 to help with my anxiety issues. I have tried other AD's with no luck as to many side effects. I also take clonzepam which they want me off so have weaned some but need to go slow as have been on it for over a year. Also I am very sensitive to meds. I started at 5mg and worked my way up to now 25mg which I have been on for about 8 days. Anxiety is a little less but still there even with the ami and the clon. Does the dose need to be increased to help more with the anxiety so I can get off the clon? Helps with sleep. Any comments welcome.
Hi Purple- I think this is a question you may want to talk to your doctor about. It is not always easy to come off clonzepine and it is good to taper slowly. Your doctor would be the one to prescribe an increase in the Amitriptyline if you both feel it would be helpful. Hope it all works out for you.
Purple; Yes Janie hit this right on the nose, Your doctor really is the only one to answer this and should have given you better information, Give them a call and let them know what mg you taking on the amitriptyline and how much Clonazepam you can drop and how many days apart. ALSO, what does the doctor want you to reach on the Amitriptyline? good luck gives them a call when you can get them.
