... trance like state after taking nightly dose, and starts stuttering in her sleep, and is really moody. Is this normal?
Hi jwrey2012, Ambien is an hypnotic, so the trance makes perfect sense. It can cause odd dreams, and some people talk or walk in their sleep. It can also cause some very strange things, such as people driving, or talking on the phone and not remembering it. One member here on this site, drove to a supermarket and spent hundreds of dollars, had NO recollection of doing so, and she also reported that she thought she went to the supermarket in her pajamas, or her birthday suit. Another member awoke with marshmallows in her hair and stuck to her body. Some people have been known to get up and eat then when they are 'awake' they find a huge mess in their kitchen.
Anything (just about) is possible on Ambien, it would seem.
I wish you and your wife the best!
