I took an oxycodone around 9 pm for neck pain from an injury. Thus, I did not take my 5 mg ambien time release at bedtime (10:30 pm). It's now nearly 2 am and, while I've slept some, and dreamed deep, I have awakened often and now, I haven't been able to get back to sleep. Can I cut a 5mg ambien in half and take it, or should I even take it at all?
It's really horrible not to be able to sleep it's 3:12 am right now and I can't sleep I just woke up to. You can take the Ambien in half but have you ever heard of melatonin it is a natural herb that is sold in the vitamin aisle and its what our own body secretes to make us sleep. You could take 5 mg. it comes in 3 mg but the 5 mg works better. It just replaces the natural melatonin that your body is lacking. It really works whereas ambien might leave you really drowsy if you have to get up early for work.
