I have taken ambien every night for the past 5-6 years. I am absolutely unable to sleep when I don't take it. Are there any long term side effects to be concerned about?
Ashleyfuller; Not really the problem would be if you try to stop them it takes a while to slowly taper them down. Ambien has been on the prescription market for some time and no long term effects. ALSO your doctor would not continue to give them to you if he or she thought there was a problem there is nothing in the info to say problems with long term use. Just that the doctor should reevaluate each person because they don't always use them this long but i have known many people on it regular for 3 to 5 years with no problems. never take more than prescribed. Chuck1957 Glad you have something that works.
