my wife took her ambien and went to sleep while sleeping she got up and went driveing and ended up flipping the vehicle shes also pregnant but they gave her a dui, she hasnt ever been pulled over so we gonna fight it. Any advice on what to do
Yes it can. It is common. The warning about driving and doing other dangerous tasks "while not fully awake" or however the drug company words it is even in the Ambien CR Television commercial. So... pleading ignorance of its adverse "side" effects is going to be a tough sell, but a good lawyer will certainly help. You should sue her doctor. Zolpidem is a Pregnancy Category C drug... she shouldn't have been taking it to begin with if she is pregnant. I wouldn't let the mother of my unborn child near ANY medicine or drug that wasn't absolutely medically necessary. I guess you can put the kid on Ritalin and Adderall at age 5 or whatever to compensate for any birth defects that affect your child's behavior or cognitive functioning. It seems to be the socially and medically acceptable trend...
