Even Ambien can't put me to sleep if I've got a solid stream of snot running down the back of my throat. Benedryl usually helps a lot but I'm unsure about taking it in conjunction with the Ambien. Anyone else ever look into this?
I wouldn't combine Ambien with water, let alone Benadryl. I took Ambien for several months without incident. I woke up in jail last Summer... blood tests just came back... NO alcohol, NO illegal drugs, just benadryl and ambien. I remember nothing for 12 hours... I blame the Ambien, NOT the benadryl. Hide your keys--it could happen to you. I'm lucky I didn't kill myself of somebody else in a horrible crash.
Oh, another thing... you might not THINK ambien is making you sleepy but you should have somebody watch you and see how you're behavior is changed after taking it. Note how you're blinking changes frequency... note change in speech and coordination. You might THINK you're not sleepy but actually be in a trance like state.
I have sleeping problems at night so my sleeping pill Ambien 10mg was not putting me to sleep the way you used to. So I start taking a Benadryl with my sleeping pill and I'm actually getting a lot more sleep at night than I was. God knows it is Hell rolling around in your bed at night and can't fall asleep.
I'm actually asking that question about Ambien and Benadryl. I just start using that combination and I'm getting more sleep than I ever was with the Benadryl and the Ambien. I hope this is not bad for me, but laying in bed at night and can't fall asleep it's the worst thing you can go through. But now I am falling asleep every night thank God. I hope I don't get depending on this combination.
