You need to consult an OB-GYN right away and have them removed asap for starters. Many babies are conceived while moms were on birth control. Most babies are just fine in spite of their early exposure to the hormones. It is rare that any birth defects happen related to mothers use of contraceptives while in early pregnancy. You do need to get them (Norplant) removed as soon as you can to limit what exposure you can if you are continueing this pregnancy. Dont worry though, if you decide to continue this pregnancy, your baby will likely be just fine. Talk to your OB-GYN as to what your options are. You need to make some decisions. The decisions are pretty much 1) Have this baby and keep it, 2) Have this baby and give it up for adoption or 3) Terminate the pregnancy. Once your choice is made then you need to make further decision in regards to what you want to do. Good Luck to you in whatever you decide.
