Am having invasive surgery. I take 1000mg niacin daily. Do I continue or stop the niacin?

Before the surgery your should tell your surgeon what drugs you are taking and see what he or she recommends. They will usually let you know if you should take a drug or not the day of the surgery. So give your surgeon a call. Sorry I couldn't help you more but the surgeon would be the one that knows. Good luck to you and I hope the surgery goes well!

Niacin, usually leaves you with a flush. It speeds up the blood flow. If you do not need it then I would get off of it as soon as you can before surgery. Also talk to your doctor as your body may need it to thrive.

Wish you the best.
