... Any good experiences out there?
First,I hope you have spoken to your Dr about side effects. The possibility of psychosis was very scarey for me. My Dr insisted I not be alone the first 2 days.
My journey began in August. It is difficult to be patient yet I understand the reasons for being cautious. I have refills every 14 days and still not at a therapeutic level , I AM HOPEFUL!!!
Still taking oral meds. The good news is I have had no side effects.
Hang in there.
Sending best wishes,
The previous answers are confusing. Refilling the pump every 14 days doesn't make sense. I believe the shortest time span for refills of Prialt is 3 months (depending on the dosage, of course, but 3 months is the shortest I have heard of. Mine will be refilled every 6 months). The other responder says she has been using Prialt for 11 years, but it has only been on the market for 8 years. ANYWAY, to answer your question, I am preparing to have the medtronic pump implanted. I did the trial injections and had wonderful results. I didn't experience any side effects, but was aware & prepared for possible reactions. After dealing with chronic pain for years, trying just about every pain medication available, Prialt has turned out to be the answer for me.
