It would be for random DOT testing. I do not abuse this - take it maybe 5 times a month - but don't necessarily want to get into the use of this sleeping pill/despressant with my supervison
Since the tests are random and benzos can show for several weeks after last dose, it will likely show. Benzos, pot, methadone, suboxone and subutex all build in the fat layers, that is why you can test positive for them for weeks after last use. These meds have to metabolize or burn out of the fat layers. Patti
Yes, it can show up for a long time. Most job screens it is not a problem if you have a script but my understanding is that DOT doesnt allow you to have any substances in your system that can cause drowsiness or cause you to be less alert. My husband is subject to random DOT testing and he had been on Darvocet for years for pain and they came in to test and told him he couldnt be on it anymore even though he didnt take the stuff at work. I think it is terrible that your job dictates to you what you can do on your free time but on the other hand I can understand the need to prove that any accidents while driving company trucks isnt due to a consumed substance. If they do detect it you can expect to be told that you cant take it if you want to continue to work. As I have said in other similar questions, I take Alprazolam for prior to dental work and I had it show up in a urine drug screen for employment 6 weeks after I took one dose!!
