Significant amount of anti-histamines present in breast milk although this is not known to be harmful. It is advisable for a nursing mother only to take essential drugs whilst breast feeding. Manufacturers of the following ant-histamines have recommended avoidance during breast-feeding. Alimemazine, Cetirizine,Cinnarizine, Cyproheptadine,Desloratadine, Dimenhydrinate, Fexofenadine, Hydroxyzine, Loratadine, Mezolastine and ketotifen.

Because of inadequate information on drugs in breast-feeding absence from the above list does not imply safety.

You should discuss the risks and benefits with your Doctor.
