what do you do if you are allergic to methadone ? what are the options ?
Please go talk to the pharmacist and ask because they are the real experts on medications. You also should let your doctor know as soon as possible. I know you probably don't want to talk to either, but, an allergy to methadone is pretty serious and I would hate to know you had to abruptly stop it. Be Brave and go talk to the pharmacist first and then your doctor as soon as possible. Suboxone is an option if you need long term opiate replacement therapy. Check out the suboxone/subutex webpage and look here at the posts on suboxone/subutex just so you will have some information before things start getting bad for you. I will say a big Prayer and hope that you truly aren't allergic to the methadone and that if you are, you get some kind of relief soon.
