I received a shot for gout today after that they discharged me. The doctor prescribed naproxen 500mg will this be enough to get rid of my gout?
No it wont (I don't think). The naproxen will ease inflammation but the uric acid has to dissolve; being normally virtually insoluble this can take some time. The shot was to allow the breakdown and excretion of uric acid crystals, I presume. I would be surprised by a few days. At the same time, I've been hopelessly wrong before; sometimes for years at a time.
