Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid. The main difference between the two is Osteoarthritis is caused by wear and tear on the joint where Rheumatoid is a autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the joints creating damage in the joint and eventually wearing away the tissue.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint and underlying bone diseases; whereas, rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease also degenerative but to a greater potential and greater pain potential.
