In my experience, doctors will tell you to wait a month because that gives you a longer amount of time to get used to taking your birth control correctly. What it says in your birth control packet is true, because it must be true in order to pass FDA regulations. However, if you are worried, I would give yourself a month in order to get used to your pill taking schedule.
