My sister is a recovering alcoholic, 2 months so far,I want to get her the Alcoholic Anonymous Handbook.
I do think you mean "The big book"In the first 164 pages which are so important you will find how people both men and women recovered,I would advise your sister to attend a meeting sort out a sponsor(someone who has been sober for at least 5 years and most definitely a woman)She will take her through the suggested programme. There are meetings everywhere and we have all been to our first meeting.Tell her to give it a go for 6 months the pubs will always be there and she will also make new friends, she is not alone!Ive been in recovery 32 yrs and if i can do it anyone can,the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking,no fees, certainly not religious more spiritual, today could be the first day of her new life?
