Oxebral - Oxebral is a nootropic drugs. This medication has a positive effect on metabolism and blood circulation of the brain. It increases glucose utilization, improves the course of metabolic processes, improves microcirculation in the ischemic areas, and inhibits the aggregation of activated platelets. Oxebral has a protective effect for brain damage caused by hypoxia, intoxication, an electric shock. This drug improves the integrative activity of the brain. Oxebral does not have a sedative and stimulating effect. How Piracetam works is not fully understood. It increases blood flow and oxygen consumption by the brain cells. It also improves the function of the mediator acetylcholine via muscarinic cholinergic (ACh) receptors which are included in memory processes.
Piracetam may have an effect on NMDA glutamate receptors. They are involved with learning and memory processes. Finally, Oxebral modulates ion channels (Ca2+, K+) so it may exert its global effect on brain function.
