... when a person gets these thoughts of panic and refuse the thought and begin to think of something else every single time would it help?Anyone tryed it?
Hi. I've tried refusing thoughts. It works as long as I say to myself that I should refuse the thoughts. Hardy har har! Truthfully, it doesn't work for me. I'm so sorry to say that. But, Darlin, that's just me. I have had "racing thoughts" for 5 years and I sure wish they'd stop. For me, a manic episode brought this on because I constantly think of the terrible things that happened. I'm okey though. I guess I would say to keep as busy as possible, doing things that you love. I write a lot. Keeping a journal is so cool. When I have these cr--py thoughts, it really helps to talk to my journal. Journals don't talk back and make you feel bad. They just relay the message that you typed. It's really a healthy thing for me. Also, the wonderful people on this site help us so much. Your going to love it.. Stay with us. I'd love to hear more. Anna
