... get a bit further out of the comfort zone? I'm trying to decide if either will work or if I should try to convince my therapist to come to my home and work with her EMDR machine. I've tried so many meds and other than the benzos which I'm currently detoxing from, nothing works. I was happily on celexa about five years ago but went off and never could go back on. It just didn't work again. Sorry, long rambling question again
I have had Agoraphobia for 25 years. I can get out and around without anxiety in my hometown and with some anxiety alittle further. I am on benzodiazepines and antidepressants but they have not exactly helped that much. If you can make it to your therapists it would be great but I would hope they could make some consideration because of your situation. In the meanwhile I would just try the best you can to go just a bit further than you have with the knowledge that you can turn around as soon as needed. I do not know if you are homebound or not but in what you said about seeing the therapist I assume you either are or are becoming so. Remember that your smallest step can be your greatest towards getting better with this. Believe in yourself and look how far you already have come! Trust me, I once was not even able to get around my hometown but now I am so thankful I am.
And, if just getting this far in 25 years with this condition is all I go, I feel that I have accomplished a great deal! Good luck to you!
