Patient has cancer and is in an unbearable amount of pain
What would you expect giving anti inflammatory over the counter medication? It is just totally inadequate. The patient should be on Morphine or Fentanyl patches and Morphine for breakthrough pain.
A good doc would treat that pain with whatever it took, it makes no difference if the person gets addicted, it won't be long. So give him morphine, preferably in a pump for continuous delivery. And give him as much as he needs. Do not withhold pain medication in this case. I can tell you that if I was in unbearable cancer pain and they handed me motrin I'd throw it back at them;
After taking 800mg of Ibuprofen how often? Consistent use and abuse of Ibuprofen can cause kidney disease and Renal papillary necrosis. Be careful on abuse with this drug. It is likely there is an issue with the kidneys.
No kidding. That's a lot of ibuprofen and they probably do have a kidney disease if the pain is on the side or kidney stones. Hopefully its not the gallbladder.
