I've had chronic pancreatitis for 6yrs after having 3 acute pancreatitis attacks. I'v had no real problems other than pain. Since 2014 i've been admitted to hospital because of the pain. I'm now on longtec 40mg, oxynorm 5mg and co-codamol for the pain for 18mths, after having had 32 admissions from 2014 til a week ago. I've now got scarring present. What does this mean? The pain i'm in has got worse from the scarring diagnosis, is this caused by the scarring?
I'm not entirely certain, but I believe that the scarring means that your duct was obstructed and your pancreas tried to digest itself. That's what I was told some years back. My doctor told me that when that happens a lot that eventually your pancreas ends up being as hard as a block of wood and stops working properly. I am currently not on any pain meds due to no insurance and no hope of any doctor who will help me. I drink Lemon Verbena tea with spearmint and Lemongrass for the nausea and have resorted to (last ditch effort of pain relief) with cannabis. So far it's working. It always helps with depression.
