Patient has had Hep C for over thirty years. Liver biopsy indicates advanced cirrosis. Two carcinomas on liver were successfully embollized with no new tumor activity as yet. Patient has too low a cell count for another course of interferon. If Sovaldi is now used to banish Hep C, how does that effect the remaining cirrosis? Would the risk of further cancers diminish, or would chance of cancer remain at present levels?
After curing HepC, do effects of Sovaldi mitigate chance of carcinomas in remaining cirrosis?
