I am on insulin and some other medications, my insurance barley covers any of it and it cost a lot of money out of pocket. Is there any kind of assistance out there I can get
Hello - Someone asked a similar question on DC recently. You might find some useful information if you go to this link.
You can try these. Suddenly Senior suddenlysenior.com/patientassistantprograms.html; or Needy Meds needymeds.org; and Partnership for Prescription Assistance 1-888-477-2669 or pparx.org, freemedicine.com The CoPay Relief Program 1-866-512-3861 or copay.org; or access2wellness.com
Also the manufacturer of your insulin may have an assistance program. You'd find it on their web site. Or tell me what you're on and I'll find it for you.
Hello JoeHam. I'd also like to add that you should ask your Dr for samples. Alot of Drs meet with drug reps just for this reason. My Dr has many patients who are income restricted or whose meds aren't well covered by ins so he keeps them supplied in samples. My son is type 1 diabetic & takes 2 different insulin's & my Dr just gave us a 3 month supply of both insulin's so we can build up a stock. Its worth asking about & i know this has saved us too many times to count. God luck!
