It doesn't sound as though it was given correctly. The injection has to go deep into the large muscle at the top of your buttock, where it creates a pool of oil-based fluid, that is released into your body gradually over the 13 weeks.
It sounds like you need to contact your doctor to get advice.
For future reference, it's best to alternate buttocks, so you don't end up with a buttock becoming concave from thd shots. That happened to me for a while, until I asked them to alternate buttocks. 1 nurse knew this, & told me how to correct it, but the rest had to be told.
