... time... relapsed once and have been sober for 4 days now... any tips on handling withdrawals and long term ideas to keep sober??? Having the worst withdrawal symptoms in the world right now
Yes, I can offer some tips as I've been where you are!! First, please google The Thomas Recipe, tis a list of OTC and RX meds one needs while in withdrawal from opiates, and a diary of sorts of how Thomas got off opiate pain meds.
You will need Imodium AD for obvious reasons!! (ewwwwww I know)
If you are having horrid muscle cramping, please take hot baths, they can help quite a bit, add some epsom salts as well. If you are perspiring like Secretariat at the Derby just try to stay cool, crank up your A/C!! Also you may have cold flashes along with the hot flashes, so wrap up in a blanket when they hit you.
Are you yawning like mad? Do you have goose flesh, nightmares, anxiety attacks, or any symptoms of depression? IF you develop the anxiety and depression, please do NOT wait too long, get to your doc asap and ask for an antidepressant just to get you through it until you are out of the woods.
I had to take one for a short time, not to worry you will not need them long atall.
Sorry, but it is so very late at the mo, and I am quite tired... so I shall check back in the morning and add more info!!! Just hang in there, this too shall pass, it just takes a while.
Best wishes to you,
