... this ok?.or should I give it to him at night fir couple weeks? Till it gets in his system? Very confused about this ?!please help need some answers!!!
I think I understood your question. He is taking Extended release Adderall so after he takes it he stays at the same (High) for the rest of the day. Extended release doesn't have a climax point where it's an intense high. With him being sleepy during the day it might be from the come down or might need a higher dosage.
First of all, relax. Even if this turns out to be a huge issue, he's going to be fine once it all gets sorted out.
I have ADHD as well, and for me at least, tiredness and focus want to go hand-in-hand. This might be biologically how the ADHD brain handles focus, or it might just be that I'm so used to focusing better when super tired (I'm that student who goes to the library at 2am) that when I'm focused because of medication, my body tells me I should therefore be super tired.
Regardless, this really isn't what it should be doing. I wouldn't suggest giving it to him at night unless your doctor said to, because I don't think that would really change anything. Talk to his doctor as soon as you can, because he may need a higher dose or a new medicine altogether.
Finally, I can't diagnose you or anything since I'm not a doctor, but perhaps you should get screened for ADHD, too, if you haven't already? I just have a good intuition about it based on how you wrote, and it runs very strongly in families. It isn't just a kids' disorder.
