The fatigue from my MS has kept me in bed for almost 3 months now my neurologist started me on Nuvigil (free 7 day supply) which is working wonderfully but my insurance is refusing to pay for it so he is talking about starting me on Adderall as an alternative and I can't find any information about the use of Adderall as treatment for chronic fatigue. Any information would be appreciated.
I have looked in all my nursing books and checked the AMA online and I could not find anything associating Adderall and chronic fatigue or MS. If your having trouble paying for your Nugivil Cephaloncares helps here is the link for patient reimbursement. http://www.nuvigil.com/NUVIGILresources.aspx I never tried Nuvigil but I have taken Provigil which is in the same line of drugs.
I have had MS for 15years and I know how hard it is to fight the sleep sometimes and other times you pray for it. I wish you all the luck with the Nuvigil and the patient reimbursement program.
I have been on Adderall for several years with much success. I would never be able to get out of bed without it. Provigil actually worked the best but there was trouble with my insurance and i was switched to Adderall. Just this week, I ask my physician if we could go another route with the insurance to allow Provigil to be covered. . . He wants me to try the Nuvigil for a couple of weeks, sure hope it works but if not I'll go back to the Adderall. Hope this helps.
