I am a single parent of 4 and I have a more than full-time job that requires many very early morning meetings. I feel that I am more tired then a normal 40 year old and would benefit from a drug to help me focus and not be so tired. However, I feel silly going to my doctor with these so-called 'symptoms'. What options do I have??? Can I get adderall or any other type of medication to help me without visiting a dr? Odd question, but I'm desperate now to try and do more and sleep less and I honestly feel weird bringing this to a doctor. Just thought I'd check if anyone has any ideas or success with other options. .

Adderall and other drugs for the treatment of ADD/ADHD are controlled substances which require a hand-carried non-renewable prescription from a doctor. Phentermine is stimulating and available from a Dr. because it's a diet drug. Do you need to lose weight? Phenylephrine is in non-sudafed decongestants bought over-the-counter and is stimulating. It's more stimulating than sudafed which can be purchased over-the-counter in pharmacies in limited amounts. There's a product called "stay awake" (store brand) which is caffeine in a pill. If you do take any of these, remember to not take them late in the day so you can sleep at night.
