Would Adderall 30mg XR show up in a regular Lithium level blood test if the last dose of Adderall is taken 2 days before the Lithium level blood test? I've heard that tests performed such as a Lithium level blood test, that the doctor typically only looks for the Lithium level specifically? Also, I've heard that Adderall typically shows up on blood tests for only 12-24 hours? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Colorme; just go for your info it is all correct. but the XR Adderall can be as long as 48 hours 2 days but there would be no reason that your Adderall level would show up in your lithium test. unless your doctor says he or she is going to run a drug test on you. that would be for everything.
Lithium is a salt. The lithium level is monitored for a couple of reasons. In time, most people who take lithium learn what is a good lithium level for them. In other words someone may say to their doctor "When my lithium level is around 0.9, I feel best." It is also monitored to help insure that the level does not get too high which could be very very dangerous. People should be careful with their lithium when they have a stomach virus, when they go to the beach in the summer and are sweating. Remember, lithium is a salt and when we sweat or have a stomach virus and diarrhea we lose more fluid or water and the Lithium or salt remains in our bodies. Therefore the lithium level could climb very high very quickly. Please discuss with your doctor what you should do if you are ill or in a situation where you will sweat alot.
Adderall is a stimulent amphetamine. It has nothing to do with salt and is not reported with a lithium level.
