Recently, I noticed red blisters outbreak on my skin and I went to doctor and diagnosed as Shingles. I started taking Zorivax 200mg pills after the 36hrs from the outbreak of blisters. Can someone say how many days does it take for the blisters to disappear or atleast the blisters not to spread more.
There are other meds you should have, gabapentin for nerve pain and sometimes prednisone. Zovirax won't get rid of the blisters. What it does is shorten the attack. It fights the virus, so the attack won't be as bad and as long. Without it shingles lasts about 6-12 weeks, with it it will last a few weeks. They aren't going to spread too much, because they stay along the path of a nerve. You won't get them all over your body. The blisters will dry up and scab, eventually.
