Actos he's been seems to cause more problems than remedy
In my totally subjective opinion, based on my personal experience, Trulicity is the medication that has helped me most. Of course insulin has as well. Trulicity has helped me lower my insulin requirements greatly. It has also helped me lose weight. That said, the side effects suck (diarrhea and nausea) and I probably not be using it if I wasn't having some serious neuropathy.
That depends on you- there are many drugs out there that can work wonders but different people respond to different drugs.
For me, Victoza is an absolute wonder drug. It dropped my A1C from 10.8 to 5.8 in three months, helped me lose twenty pounds and lowered my blood pressure back to normal. Other people take it and just get nasues, fatigued and generally miserable.
The same will be true for everything from Metformin to Farxiga- they will work for some people and not others.
If diet and exercise, the two best drugs out there, aren't enough then its trial and error until you find the one that is right for you.
Actos doesn't seem to be working for you, so call your doctor and tell him- this drug is making me so miserable that I'm not taking it anymore. He's heard that before and will just write another prescription for the next drug on the list
Its easy to tell if a dibates drug is working- just watch your blood sugar. If you don't see a drop within two weeks after getting to full dose, its probably time to move on
