Your progress with Actonel will be determined by your next bone density test results. What Actonel does is decrease the amount of bone loss in the bone regeneration cycle. It does not help your body "build" new bone. To optimize your therapy be sure to take calcium and vitamin D religiously, and begin a weight-bearing exercise routine.
The studies are still out on this but it is safe to take and most stay on it for years to see how it is working doctor well do blood test or other test looking for cracks in the bones etc..as long as you take it exactly as prescribed many have had much better results with this one then others on the market ..good luck there is no one answer for this ..Chuck1957 medically retired pharmacy technician Cpth Oregon.

I HAVE ONLY BEEN ON Actonel FOR 4 MONTHS , ONCE A WEEK DOSE. I AM NOW EXPERIENCING SEVERE RIGHT HIP?
