Help went to medical records because I was concerned with repeated uti infections and found out my doctor di not tell me I had Acinetobacter baumanni. Who can I report this to?
Us? The bacteria is an extremely common opportunistic bacteria but an emerging issue is multi drug resistant strains. Indicators are previous recent use of antibiotics or compromised immune symptoms. Remember, The USA leads the world in the breeding drug resistant strains of multiple bacteria through not completing the full course of antibiotics (amongst other countries).
If I was the Doctor I might be inclined to use a multiple antibiotic cocktail; apart from that he/she isn't obliged to tell you the strain of bacteria that they cultured; that information is diagnostic for them, not you.
It's not like you have the Ebola virus; just mention your concerns about drug resistant strains of that bacteria (that can be found on everyone on the planet).
