is this drug available over the counter or does it require a prescription by doctor?
noellesarn - Years ago this combination of drugs were widely used as a cough & cold remedy.
Phenylpropanolamine otherwise known as PPA was also found in Dexatrim.
Just recently the FDA has taken the appropriate steps to discontinue the use of Phenylpropanolamine (PPA).
Despite the PPA being an effective decongestant at one time. It has now been linked to cause bleeding into the brain and strokes.
Today in cough medications your more apt to see Guanifenain used as an expectorant for dry nonproductive coughs.
