It can be out for 3 hrs without a problem. A few min over isn't bad. If it was like 3.5 hours or more, then put a new one in and leave it in for another 3 weeks. You will skip a period but that's ok, it won't harm you. No you do not wait 7days to put it in, the second week you need to have to have the hormones. It always has to be in 3 weeks. Mark on a calendar when its time to take it out and put one in so you remember. There is an app for that too.
